Sonny's Blues

I believe Sonny's brother is taking the news of him being in jail so badly because the last time that he had seen his mother she had told him to look after Sonny. He feels as though he had failed as an older brother and as son for not keeping his promise that he had made to his mother. He feels as though if he would have been there for his brother, instead of overlooking all of the signs, he wouldn't be in the situation that he is in now.

My name is Ne'Chell Bowens. I am a 20 year old sophomore at Alabama A&M University. I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. I came to AAMU on a partial academic and partial athletic scholarship for softball.
